English is highly subjective, and requires development of ideas and opinions rather than clear-cut answers. For this reason, my objective is to empower students to think through and present their ideas with confidence and clarity.
Presenting materials in a variety of different ways to suit students’ learning styles is something that I believe is really important. I specialise in visual representations of content, and explaining things verbally in a clear and precise way.
Hi, I have broad knowledge and excellent skills that aid in both helping you prepare your thesis and teaching English. I have worked in ESL instruction, writing, editing, publishing, architecture, property development and business (I have run a number of successful businesses and employed about 300 people).
I believe in an ESL class that students should do most of the talking (so long as it's relevant!). Role-play and group discussions play a major role in classes for teenagers and for younger children I use lots of games and songs. I always start a lesson with a game (no matter the age) to recap the information learned in the previous lessons.
My lessons are geared towards high school, years 7-12, who are looking to improve their essay writing and their ability to complete assignments related to the literature they are reading. My lessons are quite flexible as I understand that students learn material at different rates. My lessons will be geared to the students needs.
I use student centered teaching methods in my classes. Students are free to ask questions and doubts and do presentations in the class. Moreover, while teaching I make sure even an average student in the class understands the lessons. As a teacher I try to bring the best out of a student.
My mantra is: make every topic relevant to the student's life and interest. The reason I love language class is that you can customise any learning experience to make it relevant to your own interests. For example, if in my academic English class we were learning about referencing, I could ask a student to bring their favourite book or newspaper.
I believe in face to face teaching/one-on-one approach rather than online methods. I feel this would give a more personal touch and get to know people very well. Feel free to approach me with any queries you may have. Your smile is my satisfaction.
I tailor my classes to the curriculum of every individual student, working on the key skills and constantly referring to the rubric and criteria.
I like to tailor my lessons to students' needs and individual goals - I am happy to help with homework, clarify school lessons, as well as provide extra relevant texts and resources if students would like.
CIARA KIRBY I am a committed, hardworking student with a strong work ethic and friendly attitude. I am currently undertaking a bachelor degree in Arts at the University of Melbourne. I am enthusiastic and very interested in working with students of all year levels to help them achieve their best.
I am an engaging tutor who relates to my students on a personal level. I am as passionate as I am knowledgeable about the subject that I am teaching. I firmly believe these are the two most important points separating a mediocre teacher from a fantastic teacher. I am friendly and will always encourage curiosity from my students will real life demonstrations or examples.
My teaching methods are basically always student oriented. I generally got no specific teaching method because my goal is to make all my students understand the day's topic. Different kids understand things differently, so i first familiarize with my students to know what they need and what their weak points are.
My teaching method differs on the needs of the students. Depending on how the students retain information I accommodate my teaching styles to maximize the achievement of the student. I will then formulate plans and strategies to help students overcome the areas they struggle the most in.
Areas of specialisation are English and Drama. In addition to completing my Masters I have a BA in performing Arts from Charles Sturt University. My philosophy is founded in working to engage students with subject material in dynamic and original ways that work best for their preferred learning style.
My tutoring lessons will be based upon the requirements of the students themselves as I have found that each student is different and they learn concepts at different speeds.
My teaching method revolves around the development of three crucial skills. 1. Close examination of the text. (This skill dictates the quality of your response). 2. Construction/Structure. (Ensuring arguments are presented logically and appropriately). 3. Expression (Finer details such as spelling, grammar, vocabulary and fluidity.
I cater my lessons to you! You want to focus on spelling today, you got it. You want to write a killer essay? Awesome! Done deal. You don't know what you want? I'm here for ya, I have years of English experience and am 1 year experienced in tutoring English in a wide range of contexts, from primary school to the top end of year 12.
My approach to tutoring changes depending on the student I am working with. I acknowledge that not one style works for everyone and so use the first session to work out how the student will respond to different types of teaching methods. Then determine how best to help them learn and get the most out of the session.
My believe that in order to learn properly, it is important to include fun activities which encourage learning so the student does not become bored of studying. I also like to encourage learning by relating things taught at school to the real world so students understand the importance and purpose of the content they are getting taught.
First and foremost, I like to cater my lessons towards the individual student. Everyone learns differently, so I always try my best to work at a pace that I believe will provide my students with the best results. As an English tutor, I do like to provide students with different vocabulary words each session, so they can continue to develop their ability to express thoughts and ideas.
My teaching methodology is simple. I teach languages for student or anyone willing to learn English, Sinhalese and Tamil. For a school students - For English - I would mainly focus in the school grade marking system. I would focus on the base and and the advance factors to make a good student to a great student.
I base my classes on YOU. All methods I devise are based on where you need help. I also know that the best way for the majority to learn is to have practical applications. That is, not sitting down and filling out a sheet, but discussing the issues and how we can improve them. Most of my learning tasks have some form of practical task.
My method is very student focused and works on my ability to change a lesson to suit the person I am working with. I put my classes together as step by step process working towards an end goal. I will not move on from an area until you feel comfortable and feel confident in it.
I uphold a structured methodology that prioritizes active learning, reciprocity & collaboration, and efficient time on task. I value students who are willing to actively engage with learning material, and who share & respond to ideas with innovation & ingenuity.
Lessons I conduct are focused on how each particular student can get the most out of the subjects they are studying, as well as their individual reason for seeking tuition.
My teaching Methodology... I like too use a range during my classes. Here's too name a few, 1. Discussion Method, where whatever we have just learnt we can discuss as a class, students are then able too engage and share their ideas, experiencesand attitudes. This becomes an active learning experience for all. Also I like too engage in the lessons taught by apply the lesson learned.
Introduction and greetings would initiate the lesson followed by a listing of the topics that would be covered. A brief conversation about doubts or questions from the previous lessons so that the fresh lesson can continue on the same level for everyone. Instructional, informative and/or questionnaire handouts will be provided according to the nature of the lessons.
I'm an enthusiastic and passionate fellow when it comes to English. Whether it's in private or classroom-type lessons, I have the uncanny ability to inspire similar interest in the material as my students. I prefer to work with the student and identify if and where difficulties with the material exist and tailor lessons around them.
I have a wholistic teaching approach where I match my student's personality to a suitable teaching style. I believe education is not about stuffing new information in but bringing out the joy and curiosity of students so they become self-motivated life learners.
