I base my classes on fundamental skills and focus the lessons towards the needs of the students. I prefer lessons where students actively engage in the skill and show the extent of their knowledge that we can then build on together.
I often focus on student-first learning, providing tailored education specific to my learner’s needs in a safe and friendly environment.
Quite simply, English is about having the right structure. As fluid as the humanities may be, I equip students with the underlying skills and tricks needed to navigate through the most populous subject in the whole VCE. Adaptable for extremely confident and less-capable students alike, I train you to know everything the paper can throw at you.
My teaching style puts the pupil first at all times. Whilst I ensure that all core skills are being addressed each lesson (understanding, reading, application, writing) the means to which this is achieved is through an understanding of what the pupil enjoys rather than a predetermined pathway that is used for everyone. Located in Camberwell, I can teach from my own home or from a student's home.
I successfully achieved participation by utilising creativity and incorporating a ‘real life’ connection into the classroom to gain and maintain students’ interests and encourage self-expression. I incorporate exciting thematic units to encourage student engagement and foster a fun and active learning environment that enable students to develop critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
My teaching method encourages the student to be creative on confident with manipulating their own language to inform and justify their points in English. I am very relaxed, easy going and allow to the student to go at their own pace before pushing them above and beyond.
My teaching method is to help the student understand the practicality of language and make learning a fun session without any boredom. Learning should always be simple and interesting to a child and that is what my philosophy about teaching is.
My teaching methodology is to personalise learning and cater to the individual needs of students; for example, this may mean incorporating visual stimuli to benefit kinaesthetic learners. I have adopted a constructivist approach to teaching, whereby I encourage students to take control of their own learning and be active participants in the learning process; as opposed to passively listening.
I offer a balanced teaching method providing general guidance to my students on topics covered whilst also ensuring the student is able to drive the direction of the content being discussed in order to focus on their areas of concern.
There is no specific way to 'teach' or 'tutor' a student as everyone is different. By learning about the student and establishing their points of strength and weakness, I will be able to give advice, read through practice pieces, give past practice pieces and provide support. As year 12 is so fresh in my mind, I would love to help out a beginning year 12 student.
My teaching methodology would be based on active participation id all the students in the class and daily progress evaluation.
I would introduce myself and let them share their names first. I would love to keep an interactive environment so that my students develop equal amount of interest . I aim that not only my students learn things but remember them in long term.
First and foremost, I like to cater my lessons towards the individual student. Everyone learns differently, so I always try my best to work at a pace that I believe will provide my students with the best results. As an English tutor, I do like to provide students with different vocabulary words each session, so they can continue to develop their ability to express thoughts and ideas.
The way I teach is unique to each student as I try to understand their strengths and weaknesses and utilise the best teaching method for each student. My schedule is flexible and I am able to drive to your home or meet at a local library for lessons. I live in Burwood and am willing to drive 15 minutes out at no extra cost.
As a facilitator of my students’ learning process, I encourage my students to develop their own learning style, understanding that each child is an individual and has different needs. I actively engage my students with the incorporation of ICT and real-world application, with the aim to create meaningful experiences.
My approach to tutoring changes depending on the student I am working with. I acknowledge that not one style works for everyone and so use the first session to work out how the student will respond to different types of teaching methods. Then determine how best to help them learn and get the most out of the session.
I am able to offer help with homework and assignments, as well as generally improve English skills to the level required. I am motivating and patient with children, and can help with other aspects of their schooling such as organisation.
I am interested in studies not because I had to study, its because I like studying. So,if we make each and every student understand that how interesting the power of knowledge is then I believe they will be able to focus on things easily. Starting with what they know and then slowly getting into the subjects.
I'm an easy-going, high-achieving Arts student with a focus on Literacy, Education and History. I game in my spare time and function as a night owl. I offer fun, relaxed sessions aiming to help anyone struggling with English, writing or anything to do with the very complex English language.
I'm a friendly, creative and flexible uni student with 10 years of experience working with kids. I graduated in 2015 and currently study at the University of Melbourne.
First a brief overview of the topic, and then explain all the topics that would be covered on that day and try to come up with an example for every topic that can make it interesting and easier to understand.
I base my lessons on basic grammar rules and making them use in real life so that can relate them with real world and help in communications and essays well.
I am more than happy to go through a practise essay that you've sent me, but walking through a prompt and simply chatting about the ideas explored in a text can be just as useful. I may give you a homework task, but I will not be getting you to write pieces during sessions.
I specialise in Essay writing (particularly for high school) and general grammar editing of any written work. I excel at writing and achieved 100% in all my Year 12 assessments by learning a few simple ways to write and structure an essay effectively.
I like to eat pho on the weekends, learn as much as I can through reading and podcasts during the week and when I’m not tutoring, risk my life getting my back taken in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.
Lessons shouldn't be boring for students. Infusing real-world experiences into instructions will make teaching sessions fresh, and enrich classroom learning.
I familiarise myself first with their reading material or assignment. I then tend to go over a student's writing and point out the places that need work, for example textual evidence, sentence fluency, vocabulary, or reasoning. Then I help them to come up with alternatives themselves so that I don't directly provide them with answers.
My teaching method is discussion of weaknesses then tailoring the lessons to strengthen that skill. I based my classes on exactly what the student needs from me.
I am a very patient teacher who can work with a range of ages (from primary to high school). I'm aware every child learns differently so i will often focus on how to best teach a child based on how they learn.
