My teaching method is based on individuals and what they would like to learn. For Beginners : we will start with Hand building. Pinching, slab building and coil building. clay and tools will be provided. Students will need to bring their own apron and towel. Firing is provided for an additional charge. I also teach jewellery making with clay: includes earrings and pendants.
I use various teaching methods, most of them are based on demos. We start from an idea, sketch it and then create a plan to bring it to life. In most cases we use observation and try to delve into our creative self to bring to life our pottery. There are cases where a more formal approach is necessary, where we look at the science behind ceramics.
I prefer to give direct and useful instruction to my students and have them do the work as opposed to giving demos or just making pots for them. My students have complimented me on this style and have told me they prefer it to how other teachers taught them in the past. I ensure that you have competency in ceramics.
I can teach all aspects of pottery: hand building, slab work, coiling, pinching, throwing, slip casting, glazing, firing, etc. I like to tailor my lessons to the individual / group. I like to make sure that I know my students goals within the subject to ensure they get exactly what they want out of the lesson.
On Thursday, I teach sculpture classes from 9:15 am to 11:30 am and shoot / massage classes from 12:00 to 16:30. I can give courses of illustration, drawings and various computer programs at home or in another place, in group or individual, in a progressive way and personalized.
