I always teach every student on an individual basis. Even within group lessons. I try to find the areas that most enthuse you as a student and focus on that direction whilst offering guidance towards other areas that may not be as familiar or as comfortable.
I'm an advanced drummer of 7 years with experience playing with others in studios and making original songs. My lessons are for people of all ages and experience levels. I believe a good balance between hard work and fun is key to learning anything well, so that's what my lessons will be like. Plus you will have the choice of telling me what you would like to learn specifically on the drums.
Most important factor is to ensure the lessons are always fun and entertaining. I have a very adaptive approach as each student learns very differently, especially when it comes to a creative outlet .
My teaching is based on approaching each student individually and tailor programs to suit both their interest and their level of playing. I do believe in learning to read rhythm notation. I also use a large amount of playalong (pedagogic) music.
We will focus on coordination, music reading, side reading and basic rhythms for improve your groove a beat. Also we can work on specific songs that you might want to learn and play and we will learn a bit of music theory.
My aim as a teacher is to make learning the drums a positive and enjoyable experience, but also challenging and rewarding for the student, where the goal is to engage and inspire! The learning is led by the student and their passions, you name it, we play it! Great focus is dealt on correct technique, learning to read and recognise drum notation, learning songs and transcription.
I am a drummer and will teach anyone from those who have never seen a drum kit before to people who know their way around a kit very well. I will start from basics and move my way up from there and see how far they advance. They will be able to advance and I will be happy to watch it happen.
My teaching method is to keep it simple at the start, not playing exactly as it's recorded, but as you can play it. I teach you how to play realistically to your talent and simple beats, simple tunes, usually tunes that stay in your head and you can play as easy or as complicated as you want. Making it fun and enjoyable.
My teaching method is in the initial lessons get the child playing to a level that they can have some fun and then begin working on the more intricate parts of drumming eg music reading, rudiments, syncopation etc. In the early stages I use words such as 'apple' to describe a rudiment with two notes 'a,' 'pple' becomes Left, Right for example.
Coaching you all the way from practice room to Stage Im flexible to help to customise the class "just for the student needs" . I do play other instruments and i will be coaching you how to perform along with percussion /guitar/bass / keyboard so while you learn we can build your own confidence to play with other musicians or jam with your friends from day one.
My lessons are hands on and a safe space for experimenting and learning. I keep my lessons fun and informative, moulding my lessons around the abilities and interests of my students. I encourage my students to learn to hold rhythm, jam with other musicians, develop their own style of playing.
I offer basic lessons while taking into consideration the student's present experiences and skills. I prefer a more casual approach to teaching. My lessons would only provide a basic understanding and foundation for percussion.
My teaching method is purely student-centered, focusing on the student's interests and style as they play the instrument. My lessons would involve playing simple to advanced rhythms, listening to drumming in a variety of cultures and practising reading sight notation.
my teaching methodology is based on starting out simply (depending on the pupils skills at the time)based on a modular approach starting with the most efficient way of holding the sticks and using the Gladstone method of "levels "as made famous by Joe morello and later introducing "control strokes" that connect the levels (stick height)using the book stick control by gl stone ,I later introduce...
My lessons are a time to explore who YOU are. What are YOUR curiosities? Realising natural interests and learning-style, we approach arising practical problems while steering towards and overall goal.
My teaching focuses on the importance of good technique and helping to tailor lessons to suit the students musical interests. Lessons are created to suit the individuals level and interests, creating a fun and enjoyable experience.
