I teach using an understanding of the horse and developing rider / handler / driver confidence, knowledge and skills. A typical riding lesson includes the purpose of the lesson (what is to be learnt or remedied) an introduction to the techniques or tools used, a practical session and a revision with on-going exercises.
I try to provide supportive and well-informed advice. There is a lot to know when starting out and it can be really confusing - everyone has an opinion when it comes to horses! I try to find out what you need and how you learn, and tailor a service to that.
Currently undertaking my Coaching qualifications through Equestrian Australia, I am passionate about horse welfare and happiness and my focus is on creating lasting partnerships between horse and rider. I am fully qualified in Certificate III and IV Sport Coaching Equestrian and have been riding since I was 6.
I base my classes on the "work" of the horse. I work more on the flat, but I also give courses at the obstacle and a field of cross. I can also help you on foot work with your horse (loin, long reins), or with one of my horses. I can give lessons with your horse or one of my school horses.
Hello there! My name is Grace and I have been teaching in this subject area for 10 years. I have grown up with horses and have a real passion for what I teach. I have a range of industry skills and understanding in this topic area.
I try to copy my teaching method from my own trainer's method. I learned so much from her, so my goal is to try to do the same for fellow riders. I like to take things slowly, one step at a time, because nothing comes out of rushing things. Horse AND rider need time to understand things.
I like to give confidence to my clients, and help to figure out a different way to go about doing something if what you are already doing isn't working
My teaching method is different for each student. It all depends on what horse you ride, what discipline and what level you are riding at. For group lesson all students can be different levels and each will be focused on individually to achieve the same thing. Different methods work for different people and horses.
Interested in horses but don’t know where to begin? I can help! My teaching method is to work with each student on an individual and personal level. I can help you get started with horses and learn the basics.
my teaching method is to always have a positive mind and never give up . my name is Niamh and i give my lessons to anyone. As a person i am very fun , happy and creative person i never have a sad face and am always delighted to teach anyone of any age.
My teaching methods can vary dependant on the type of student to enable the individual to learn their own way
- Dressage: help students to better understand the horse and teach the basics to train it properly. - Training of young horses: in the case of untamed horses, taming them in the appropriate manner, and if already tamed, make them progress in more advanced dressage exercises or jumping.
Riding is supposed to be fun. The horse is supposed to like the lessons, not feel like it is a burden. i want to see the horses being eager and happy while getting ridden.
I prefer one to one learning either in person (if ridden work involved) or via Skype/video clips. Group lessons by arrangement.
My teaching method is to advise students on ways in which they can achieve their goals with horses, whether it be care or riding and help them develop these ideas and find ways to extend both their knowledge and riding.
I approach all individuals differently based on their learning style, but I do try to keep things as interesting as possible using tools and props to encourage the leaners. I understand everybody learns differently and therefore I cater my teaching style individually.
I approach each topic by appraisal and step-by-step peeling back layers of an issue to reach a core "why?" of each discussion. I promote critical thinking and adjusting one's worldview based on facts rather than previous unproven knowledge, especially as the equine industry is full of misguided information.
