My teaching method varies according to age and personality, but is basically a combination of traditional teaching, playing by ear, learning to read music, and alternative notation. I use many different strategies depending on the situation. Humour plays a large part in my teaching.

I hold a qualification of Grade 6 practical clarinet AMEB and I have eight years of experience in playing the clarinet. I offer music lessons for beginners and intermediate level students, learning for fun or for school. I was also principal clarinet for four years in a symphonic band and the featured soloist for a jazz band.
I will get to know the students level of proficiency and how they best learn and plan the lessons from there. I will set homework which is achievable and therefore allows for the student to stay engaged and enjoying the lessons.
