I teach an engaging song based method, which is customised to you. Teaching you how to play a song you love as soon as possible helps with your confidence and is overall more enjoyable. I can teach a range of songs and styles which help you with the correct technique, building a foundation of songs while introducing helpful theory. I can also teach you through AMEB studies.
I base my approach on what is the objective. I build smaller goals based on that objective, and attain it one at a time. Though time is of the essence, I believe that when learning is concerned, it is best for it to take time. If an approach doesn't work, I don't force it. Instead, I try a different way.
I mould my lessons depending on age, how my student interacts with their instrument, musical interests and commitment to practise. I believe that every student has a type of music they can identify with so I look to harness that passion and use it to develop their skills.
I like to teach students the way they want to be taught. If that means spending half the class on theory and then working from a book, we can do that. If they are looking for a more laid back approach, we can base our lessons of the songs that the students want to learn. I believe the only way to achieve something is to make it fun and enjoyable.
My teaching method varies, on a case-by-case basis. Every student learns at a different pace, and as such I alter my teaching methods to accomodate each student. From learning simple chord patterns, all the way up to advanced techniques. I cover a range of styles, from basic blues progressions, all the way up to advanced genres including jazz, ska, and various rock & metal genres.
I am very patient teacher and I want to help my students to strengthen and develop their musical knowledge in bass guitar no matter age or skill level. We will start with getting an understanding for the instrument through different genres of music and skill building techniques. I'm very happy for suggestions from studies or song that a student or a parent wants me to focus on.
Depending on the students age/ability, a lesson will last for a half hour with two sections - scales and song learning to one hour with three sections - scales, reading and song learning. The theory progresses with the student's competence.
I base all my methods on analysing the students skill and mindset to see what types of techniques are required to learn and keep them focused and motivated with ideas and inspiration that I've experienced over the past 20 years.
My teaching is based upon gaining an understanding of what the student wants to get out of learning the guitar and move forward with a fun and structured approach to achieve that goal, whether that be to learn songs, follow a formal grading route, develop technique or learn new skills - beginner to advanced.
My way of teaching is from my many years of playing shows, practicing, teaching and just being a musician as well. I can identify what problems the individual needs to become more aware of and I create lessons according to what he/she needs to learn to become proficient in that area.
I focus on the learning needs of my students during lessons. I believe music should be internalised before it can be expressed. This way, students will be taught to play from the heart, which makes lessons less clinical and more enjoyable.
GUITAR | PIANO | COMPOSITION | PRODUCTION/RECORDING LESSONS I offer boutique music lessons, with a specially designed curriculum for every student. My teaching method can be applied to individuals or Group lessons. I break down the mystery of the unknown and show you how the guitar is an extension of you, and your emotions, creating the opportunity to allow feeling in your playing, not just playing a chord or a note.
I enjoy teaching one-on-one, allowing for my students to ask me questions at all times as we start by working through the basics of bass guitar, tuning and scales and eventually will be working at integrating bass with other instruments for a band like focus. This will also allow for students to eventually pick their own songs for playing and practice.
I can teach you how to play a killer groove, how to improvise, how to create your own walking bass lines, how to play along to your favourites, sight reading and theory. I can tutor VCE music performance exams and auditions for university.
My teaching methods vary from student to student. I understand the importance of listening skills and empathy when teaching and interacting with the students. I strive to be a clear communicator. I strive to make the learning process to be engaging & fun with activities and getting the student to participate in the lesson, instead of being a passive observer.

Struggling with your range or endurance vocally? Can't finish your songs or get them to sound as good as they do in your head? I've been there too. I'll come to you or you can come to me, we'll play, enjoy ourselves, come up with a plan and a strategy that suits us; and through mutual hard work, learning will ensue.
My teaching method is very practical, however, if the student would like it so, I will supply written work as well. I base my lessons on the students desires, along with some suggestions which I believe may help the student to improve at a steadier pace.
I specialise in you, it's all about what you want to get out of the instrument. I teach theory and traditional approach to the instrument, but I like to pepper up the dull stuff with history and fun stories about the Bass Guitar and its many eccentric players.
I teach bass guitar to beginners to intermediate. I like to teach students to read music and eventually join a band. I provide a positive environment and make sure students learn correct technique on their instrument. I start teaching scales and am flexible with what type of music the student would like to learn.
My teaching methods is Firstly to understand what will be the best for each individual student. Every person is a different but their needs can be the same, to understand the students system of personal values. Bass is the gigantic universe.
Patience and understanding in the face of struggling and confusion. Teaching is another word for guidance which I have prevailed upon every student I have ever encountered from the illiterate grade 3 classroom to the independent intellectual professor. We come to realize we know less and less as we get older and older with there being so much more to learn out there in the world.
