I base my classes on each student individually. After an initial lesson where I assess the student’s strengths and weaknesses, I create a progressive syllabus that we will work on for the time that they have with me.
My teaching methodology is practice, focus with elements of fun are crucial to developing a growing dancers mind. Especially in younger dancers, keeping things changing while still focusing on fundamentals is key. I like to challenge dancers with different movement vocabularies to broaden their view of what dance can be.
I believe it is extremely important for students to have a voice and be able to express their needs and feelings. If they find something challenging, I will find a way to break this down until it is their second nature. In contrast, I will find ways to challenge those that want to be pushed and challenged too.
I have danced as a Principal dancer with Royal New Zealand Ballet Company, the English National Ballet, Deutsche Oper in Berlin, and the Royal Danish Ballet, then as a ballet master on retiring from performing.
I teach a range of styles including, Contemporary dance, Ballet, Jazz and specific event choreography (eg Weddings, flash mobs, parties). I can focus my lessons on specific techniques required for each lesson.
I like to make sure that all the kids are having fun and enjoying themselves while dancing. Making sure I know how all the kids learn and making sure that all kids are on the same page.
My teaching method is opening their minds to see the art and different stages of dance. i base my classes on performance and technique. i approach topics by teaching them the backgrounds and the feeling/story that is given to each dance performance.
Every lesson would be perfectly designed to each student keeping in mind his/her preferences. It is essential to develop techniques to keep the body healthy and avoid injuries. We’re going to travel around the body possibilities and connect with it having a great time.
I like to keep my classes light and ALWAYS fun. With a level of respect hard work will come forward. Assisting technique, fitness and performance quality in a supportive, encouraging and fun environment. For me, always gave the best results.
I enjoy teaching all levels and all abilities all I ask is that you give it your best shot and make the effort in class and you will see results. A typical class would be - 20 minutes warm up - 20 minutes technical focus - 20 minutes choreography.
My teaching methodology is influenced by my exceptional exposure to excellent personal coaches in Ballet and Yoga in New York, USA, and being exposed to the techniques, i.e. Cecchetti, Vaganova and English methods of technique. I use what I most value.
The teaching method would depend on the style of dance and level of dancer, but each class would consist of a warm up, center work, and small combinations to practice. I believe every dancer has their own area they excel in which would be highlighted and we would work together to make the dancer comfortable doing all moves.
I like to teach completely based around the individual. I am able to run private lessons for RAD students to better their technique before exams. I can also run private lessons for students wanting classical or contemporary solos for competitions.
The way I teach is adapted to meet each student's personal needs and capabilities. The lesson typically starts with a warm up and stretch and then focuses on what the student is wanting to improve/learn whether this be solos, technique etc.
I take particular care in working within the limits of children's physical ability paying particulat attention to correct technique applied
Classes will always start with a warm up. That will be followed by technique and then move into learning some choreography. I am a very demonstrative teacher and never rush my students through learning technique or a new step.
I like to really focus on technique and ensuring that the student is doing the correct movement with proper technique as to ensure they do not cause injury or create bad habits.
