My teaching methodology is centered on a clear understanding of the fundamental principles of aesthetics, techniques and best practice. This is further informed by an extensive knowledge and understanding of materials, surface preparation and safe handling of supplies.
I like to approach my students with view to inspire an enthusiasm to be daring. Sometimes we will be hands on with instructions and other times will be lively discussion on the endless possibilities in front of us. We can never get bored with this type of exchange. Part learning experience, part therapy to break the shackles of conventional thought.
I love teaching art to children. My philosophy is quite simple: To engage, inspire and teach art with age-appropriate techniques and subjects. 1. Ban pencils and erasers. Sounds harsh, right? I rarely use pencils and erasers in my classrooms with the exception of a few lessons for upper grades. The reason is purely practical: small pencil leads encourage small drawings. 2.
I base my classes on a hands on learning approach, keeping in mind that the processes of artistic materials are learned by studio making. I enjoy teaching charcoal, ink and oil pastel drawing on paper, drawing from observation, portraiture, abstraction, experimental process drawing.
I've taught at primary, secondary and tertiary levels and always seek to promote a flexible learning space where people feel safe to explore and expand upon their skills and understanding. Building independent learners who feel confident in their own ability is my goal.
The focus is on the individual and providing a supportive, non-judgmental, caring space, which allows each person to explore and express their creative and intuitive self. Using a person-centered approach my methodology uses a clear step by step guide, at the pace and goals set out by the individual.
I always listen to what you want to say, then I consider the best way to help you achieve what you want to achieve, then I will show you how you can acquire the necessary skills to accomplish your goals.
Experience Art teacher for Montessori, Primary and Special needs children (adults also welcome). I use the Portfolio teaching methodology in to embed education through art. This method is highly effective since the topics are drawn from individual tastes, experiences and their hobbies or even sports.
Students work on small projects to develop skills.
I base my teaching from complete uniqueness. There are no rules, rights or wrongs.
I am a person who listens and helps to inspire you. I work within your ability and more if you would like. You will learn fast with my teaching techniques and learn the right way to paint. At the end of the day.. I believe you will be happy with your results.
My Teaching's go on working out what my clients abilities are and then working towards developing a program that is enjoyable and fun while building trust and confidence. I am a mother of two boys one of which has a disability. I try to connect with their world and through Art Craft and Music I move toward a Happy Place for them to visit.
