I am a PhD (Civil Engineering) candidate at the University of Wollongong and have a passion for research and teaching. My methodology for teaching has always been interactive and guiding the students to grasp the concept rather than mere cramming. Further, helping the individual with the practical application of the theory in real world problems.
I work on the basics of the students before moving ahead. I believe as soon as your basics are not clear you can't enjoy and learn properly. Besides covering the basics i lay emphasis on finishing the work within the stipulated time.
I believe in an individualistic approach to my teaching as I believe all students learn differently. I like to get to know the child and how they like to learn to ensure they get the most out of my lessons. Every child has the potential to do well and love learning and I believe my interpersonal skills and my creativity can help in developing an approach that is specific to the individual.
I usually work on a one to one basis. This could be at a local library, at the student's home or at my own place. Whichever is most convenient for both parties and where the student feels most comfortable. Sessions can be conducted over Skype where the student feels confident in using the technology.
I like to teach students from primary to high school and like to take classes either after 5.30pm during schooldays and anytime during weekends.

My teaching method varies student to student. I like to give lots of examples, and always end a topic offering any questions. I usually would finish with the child answering what the best thing they learnt today was, and what they would like to work on.
I teach according to the students needs. If a student is struggling to understand some concept, I prioritize working on that subject until they can excel at it! That way I can ensure the student not only understands the concept, but they can continue to carry the mentality and work ethic of working harder rather than simply giving up .
I highly believe in personalised learning as I think every student is different and learning how they learn best is the most important part in effective teaching. I also believe in teaching the significance of a subject to a student as I found that if students see a reason behind their classes they achieve higher grades and are more motivated.
