I enjoy working with children and I like to make learning fun for them so that they are engaged at all times and can obtain the most from the session. My lesson structure covers all topics the student requires extra help on, while also helping them strengthen their grasp on concepts they already feel confident about.
In the first lesson I usually speak with my students to detect their level, possibly issues and goals. If a student hasn't exactly focused the issues, I will examin the study's path to identifiyed them. I usually overview the theoretical concepts, then exemplify with some specific exercies. After all, I supervise the student doing some exercies.
I will not say I strictly follow text books. But I do give extreme importance to the basics of any topic. If the building foundation is not strong enough, the whole building will fall down. I believe every student should be at least aware of all the approaches there is to a problem, and choose a solution most fit for the problem. I think that exercises the mind and expands knowledge.
I really enjoy studying mathematical and scientific subjects that involve problem solving. During my lessons, we will start with some background information behind the concept. Diagrams will then be illustrated on the board, linking them to the relevant formulas in the syllabus.
I feel the greatest joy as an instructor when my student is finally able to put the pieces of a problem together on their own and the logic finally 'clicks' for them. I firmly believe that everyone can excel at math with enough time and patience. I wish to impart even the smallest bit of joy and feelings of accomplishment into every lesson.
