In my teaching method I take into account the students' experiences with their native language, their knowledge of language structure (grammar) and their level of education. I also consider their knowledge and experiences with other languages and try to meet their expectations.

Instead of directly entering into the game strategy or techniques, I start with body fitness. Bringing the movement in the players body is important, so body fitness is important. When a person is perfect in his movements, then they can move to the gameplay.
I think it is imperative that every student of mine fully understands what they are playing, and how the notes relate. I ensure that the technical aspect of the lesson (scales/music theory etc.) helps support the given piano pieces and vice versa.
I'm completely new to tutoring and don't know what works best for me as a teacher, but I believe that tutoring lessons should have friendly environment where students are comfortable to ask questions and make mistakes!! As a student, I have access to my own class textbooks, CDs, ect which I would use to aid lessons where needed.
