My teaching method is first and foremost to cater to each student individually. This entails supporting the student where they need help, and assisting in any writing developments which the student or their educational facility requires. My specialty is creative writing, but I aim to help each student achieve their goals in whichever area of writing they require.
I structure my tutoring lessons on the importance of student understanding and learning. By this, I mean not simply telling students the answer, or changing a student’s draft for them. My methodolgy is to positively encourage students to explore their own ideas, and challenge their thinking.
My teaching style is highly adaptive, relying mostly on bringing it back to basics. By laying a strong foundation one can approach the target from all sorts of different angles. Students learn at different paces, with different styles and in different ways.
Students send me their work to look over, which I do with a metaphorical fine tooth comb. I watch out for errors in grammar and spelling, as well as give suggestions on how to make the work flow better, before sending the work back to the student.
Lessons can be modified and suited to students needs. I can help students with a range of aspects to do with English, such as writing techniques, comprehension, noting, drafting and assignment help. Lessons tend to be 1 hour long but exceptions can be made.
My lessons are aimed towards senior school students (years 10-12) and first or second year university students. I begin in the first lesson getting to know the student and what they understand so I am able to create a study plan aimed at their specific learning style and around the concepts they are struggling with.

I believe that teaching and learning both comes from the heart. This way, our lessons will be so much more fun, insightful and exciting. Biology can be a complicated subject due to the memorising and undertaking required. I have found it incredibly useful to go through the material at least once and refresh my memory by creating interactive flashcards that will be useful for quick revision.
I plan my work well in advance. I illustrate my lessons with the help of examples and power-point presentations. The lessons are quite interactive with equal participation of students so that they are not bored. Explanation to the problems using real life situations is my main focus.
