I base my classes on a brief look at a famous artist and key features of their work, which we will use to learn techniques from for our own work. We will experiment with various techniques, explore subject and composition and collect dated work in a small portfolio so over time we can view progress made and be inspired to create one unique significant finished work on a board.
My teaching practice includes engaging as much real life experience as possible and utilising media such as video and sound recordings. My methodology is constructivist student based as I believe that in order to succeed, especially in English as second language, topics and materials must be relevant to the learner.
I believe in one on one hands on teaching and making sure that the student understands what is going on before we move on to the next subject.I believe that this teaching method works the best as in gets the student interested in moving ahead with story telling and motivation from my experiences in the live music scene and also I respect the students learning ability.
My teaching method is practice based and I focus on building confidence with the tools of painting so that each student can build unique styles. Each group of lessons is based around a specific project, once a certain skill level is reached self directed projects are encouraged.
