I try to understand the student's level of understanding on any given topic and based on that I tailor my lessons. It depends on every individual. I design my lessons in a way so that I can make sure the student is grasping the concepts in an effective manner and is able to implement the knowledge without further trouble.
I teach based on the foundation that if you understand the concepts in maths then doing the questions is about asking yourself what step do I need to do. When helping other students I make sure they actually no what each step does by asking them a question to make them think in a new perspective on the question.
