Are you looking to improve your English Language Skills this year? I am an TESOL certified ESL tutor from America with over 13 years experience in the field (Mainly in South Korea - 안녕하세요!). I have previously worked in academies, public schools, universities, with corporate clients and with small group/individuals.
My methodology is simple, let's relax. After the ice is broken, I use the pedagogical method of I say, You say, We say! I find repetition is the best method of learning.
I find out what you need and what your interests are and use real life situations to help you to understand and use English in a fun, interactive way. Boredom is our enemy and laughter is our friend and no question is stupid!!! My interests are food and cooking, travel and music and I use these where possible to help you understand and practice English.
I base my lessons on the needs of the students. They need to learn what is going to help them achieve what they want to achieve. If a student needs to develop his/her speaking skills to get a job, then that's what we'll work on. It's all about giving students what they need to succeed and achieve their goals.
During my sessions I will try my very hardest to make my students feel as comfortable as possible. In the beginning it would be ideal to get to know who I am working with.
I provide a 1 & 1/2 hour lesson or 2 hours depending on my students requirements. We cover the 4 English skills, reading, writing, listening & speaking. I find most of my students have an understanding of reading & writing but need more practice with listening & speaking.
My teaching method is very interactive, I like to get the students involved as much as possible. The more you talk and practice the easier it will be to improve. Lessons will be tailored to the student and can be adapted on the fly when needed based on the students needs and requirements.
My lessons are student centric. I believe in hands on training and involve my students to learn through activities. the lessons usually starts by pointing out the goal/goals that will be achieved at the end of the lesson and then I work towards it along with student needs. Although I plan my lessons, i tweak them according to the need of my students.
I have worked giving English lessons to mainly adults but also children - everyone from beginner English to businessmen professionals. I like to give practical exercises for my students to learn practical skills, relevant to their lives. Everything from living abroad (such as ways to find employment, grocery shopping, cultural differences and transportation) to skills they'll use at their job.
I like to have fun while using relevant topics that interest students. This makes me a very popular teacher as students enjoy themselves whilst learning. I integrate American sign language in class, particularly with preschoolers and primary school aged students.
When I am tutoring IELTS speaking, I usually design the learning materials according to their background and since their starting lines and aiming marks are different, so sometimes I need more scaffolding, sometimes more students-centric.
Cooperative learning structures are my most used style when teaching and I always see to it that my students will always participate with our study sessions so that he or she can absorb lessons more effectively through interacting and cooperating.
I like to encourage speaking, speaking, SPEAKING! Communication is FUN and there are lots of ways to learn and practise vocabulary. Even singing with a guitar can be helpful for your pronunciation and vocabulary. I'm happy to bring my guitar to your lesson.
The basis of my classes are conversation. Lots of talking helps me identify the areas my students need to improve. I also provide practice in using grammatical structures and have a strong focus on improving pronunciation and listening ability. I also like to teach students a range of English language - from polite formal English to the everyday conversation they will use and hear in their lives.
I believe people learn through doing, and that people also learn through using different multiple intelligences (Gardner). I like to use different technologies and techniques to get the best out of each student in a catered approach, taking into consideration how you learn.
My teaching method involves hands-on activities including freestyle writing sessions, oral communication techniques and reading exercises. Then I prefer to individually walk through any areas of improvements with students to provide beneficial and critical feedback to enhance their skills.
My teaching method is based upon what you feel as though you are lacking. I can teach anyone anything as long as they wish to learn. The lesson structure is dependent on what you want to learn and improve upon.
I am a kind and patient teacher who is willing to work with my students at whatever pace is required. I can teach all levels of English, and help my students with virtually anything English related. I particularly specialise in improving the writing skills of my students. I can proof read papers and give general feedback on all types of written work.
My teaching methods are communicative, interactive and geared towards the interests and abilities and needs of the learners. Lessons are planned around a topic or a language feature to include a variety of activities utilising a range of language skills. Informal testing determines progress.
I usually base my lesson on a topic (Christmas, sport, pronunciation etc) depending on the interests of the students. I will then have some material to present keeping the lesson fun and interactive. Each lesson is specific to the needs of the students.
My teaching method is Total Physical Response. I'm expressive, artistic and creative which means I'm an excellent communicator. I've taught young children and teenagers mostly one on one and small groups. I'm skilled at diverse teaching methods to suit different learning styles.
I believe the best way to learn a language is to enjoy it. Therefore it is important to me that my classes match your interests and goals. I have experience teaching students from a wide variety of age, culture, language and English level backgrounds and will do my best to give classes that will meet what you want.
The teaching methodologies at Kelvin Grove Tutor are centred on the core idea that students acquire much more language when they are fully engaged in the learning activity. This means 'goodbye' to the traditional teacher-centred learning environment.
My teaching methodology is a standard classroom or one-on-one lesson, with text books and word-image association. At advanced levels I encourage my students to do most of the talking and help them express their thoughts in the best way via new vocabulary and expressions.
1. My teaching of IELTS speaking part is based on Part 1 + Part 2 + Part 3. Brainstorming with the students about the topics is a must. I would fully explain the test-taking process to the students. 2. My teaching of listening part will be based on various question types of Section 1/2/3/4 in IELTS. The strategy to tackle the questions would be the highlight of the lessons.
My personal focus is on deliver student-centered communicative classes taught in an encouraging and dynamic environment, in addition to providing a nuanced understanding of the subject matter and individualized high-level feedback. I am flexible and am able to tailor lessons to suite each student and strive to achieve student satisfaction.
I believe that English is best learned to be flexible around your needs and to do that I focus on online individual and group classes, with an extra focus on making lessons easy to follow, while making sure that student are given guidance to be creative in their writing and find their own direction.
I like to begin with a meet and a greet and a set of questions for yourself and your child. From here we can gauge together where your child is at academically, intellectually and socially, and what activities would need to be implemented to best get them ahead, confident, and school-ready.
I base my teaching on my assessment of the individual and normally tailor it according to the persons' skill level. If it as a group I have a well planned and structured approach to suit a wider audience.
I approach English as a second language as it is to me. I have known the language since Kindergarten and have been studying in institutions primarily using English as their first choice. I teach in a very friendly manner, giving time for one to really capture the language in its most grammatically correct form.
