My teaching method depends on the student and studies they undertake. I am strict with pre reading and homework for progression of the students learning. Problem solving is a priority as well. However, Im easy going person and flexible to accommodate. Example of the first lesson I would introduce myself and ask the current level and situation of the student (why they wanted a tutor).
During tutoring sessions, I aim to work off what your child needs and where their weaknesses may be. Generally, I will set up a rough guide as to what will be covered in the session, and work according to what will most benefit your child. I believe that tutoring should not be a chore for any individual, and aim to make each session interesting and engaging as much as possible.
Having previously worked as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver and a bilingual kindergarten teacher in Japan, my lessons are catered towards learners of various subjects of all ages.
I love to make lessons interesting as the child needs to be engaged in the learning. As I am studying Early Childhood at Uni, our main philosophy we learn is that learning is sourced from play. This states that children will learn best when they are at play.
My preferred teaching method is collaborative: I meet students and assess the level of support they need, with a focus on specific area where they need improvements: writing, reading skills (the ability to assess the main points of the argument). My specialty is academic writing and research skills.
Before I take on a student, I familiarise myself with the content the student is needing help with so I am fully prepared. Once I know what grade the student is in, I look into the current syllabus and curriculum material so I know how much I should cover, but only when the student is ready.
Due to my limited tutoring experience, I have yet to discover the most effective method of teaching. however, during my gap year, I had the privilege of working in a special needs summer camp in America. Not only did it allow me to work in a multicultural society, it also gave me the tools to become adaptive to different personalities, learning styles and above all, patience.
Hi i'm Anne-Marie White but most call me Annie, I'm currently attending Penrhos College as a grade 10 student and the age of which i can tutor and support is from grade 1-8. Organisation is a huge part of me, this is a great quality to have as a tutor as every session will be well thought out and planned.
As an English tutor, I would begin with the student discussing what their homework/task is about and the areas in which they are weak at, particular to the task. I would then discuss my knowledge and ideas upon the task, and if available, allude to the student’s rubric for the best mark for the particular student.
I believe in deep understanding of concepts rather than cramming and making them understand everything in detail and motivates them to practice and learn and try to write themselves rather than copy and paste.
With my students, I like to start with defining the problem/concept/task and breaking it into smaller parts. Through this method, the student begins to understand how to approach academic tasks they are presented with and improve upon their current skill set.
I base my teachings around smart study, not hard study. The short cuts, tips and tricks and straight to the point information to really stimualte personal grwoth in a judgement free zone. The way I work adapts to WHO you are and what kind of vibe you're chasing. The content is always quality but first and foremost, easy to understand.
I like to demonstrate/model to my students as much as possible how something is done, and then let them try and complete the task independently. For example, I will show them how to complete a problem, step-by-step, and then let them copy each of my steps, until they become more confident with this. I will then encourage them to try and complete the task totally independently.
My teaching method is to work one-on-one with students to customize lessons to each student's needs and learning style. Flexible schedule, can tutor in groups or independently.
I am a Psychology Student at the University of Western Australia with an assured pathway in Psychology Honours. I teach preschool, primary school and high school students. I was trained by a leading tutoring centre called 'Innovative Teaching Academy' and worked there as a Human Biology, Mathematics and English tutor.
My pedagogy is child centred, so I match the tutoring experiences to the interests and talents of each child. I believe every child can learn when I start with their strengths.
People remember two things when it comes to learning. Stories and that they laughed. I use humour and life experience along with practical examples to teach a subject that most people fear. My presentation called 'No Fear Finance' has a minx of everything and is memorable! I have enjoyed success and taught many diversified students over the years.
I use many approaches, different approaches/learning techniques for different individuals.
My method is interactive description of the topic, followed by reinforcement, and then assessment of comprehension. I think students learn best if they can end up teaching others what they’ve learned and what they know.
Keen sportsman who is keen to umpire WAFL, very energetic, enthusiastic, diligent and always looking for ways to help others.
My teaching method is tailored to each students type of learning. Be it visual, auditory or tactile, I can tailor my lessons to the student. I also want to build up my students and nurture an environment where they feel comfortable to grow, ask questions and fail.
I teach in a friendly way so that students find it easy to understand.
I talk to students and see what they know about the topic. And work together . Want to talk more with examples .
I will look at your syllabus and outline key ideas and concepts, and then attune my teaching to how you learn. Whether that be charts, tables, music, talking or writing.
I base my teaching around the individual student. I hope to create a non-stressful environment where my students feel comfortable and open to ask for help as much as they need. I aim for my students not to feel pressured to perform above their ability but to have the opportunity to work to their highest potential.
I base my teaching on the syllabus requirements as well teachers instructions. To this I value add by making the student improve their thinking ablity and understanding the topics in an easier manner through proper examples, making them be able to answere questions as well as increase their knowledge base.

Having completed four practicum placements at four different schools ranging from teaching year 1, year 4/5 and year 6, I am experienced in teaching a range of students. I structure all my lessons based on the specific learning needs of the individuals I am teaching and am experienced in differentiating the learning activities and curriculum to suit specific abilities and learning needs.
My sessions are based on students’ class work with relevant and related extension/catch-up background as necessary. I prefer to explain things with reference to real world examples where possible as I find this is particularly effective for helping students not only learn but apply the knowledge.
Lessons will depend on the curriculum area which tutoring is needed. Most lessons will focus on developing skills that are outlined by the relevant curriculum authority. I assist students in finding a way that works for them, whether they need help wit th reading, spelling, writing or mathematics.
