Hi, my name is Tim, and I can help you develop your musical, creative and expressive inclinations on guitar (acoustic and electric), whatever your individual tastes, level or background. For simple pleasure, or with a view to more serious pursuits and professional aspirations, with lessons tailored to your needs and musical preferences.
For example, together with a creative approach to the skills and general technical foundation noted above:
Learn to play your favourite musical styles, from classic or contemporary POP, ROCK, FOLK, COUNTRY, INDIE / ALTERNATIVE, to R&B, SOUL, FUNK, BLUES, and more. Or use them as a foundation and models in developing your own style.
Or for simple enjoyment, and as an accompaniment to SINGING, tell me your favourite SONGS and i’ll show you how to play them. Also learn to develop instrumental breaks in your songs, and various musical aspects of SONGWRITING.
Others are invited to explore the authentic techniques of great ROCK and BLUES players, or gain an introduction and technical foundation for JAZZ or METAL playing
Enjoyable lessons from an experienced teacher, performer and recording artist, with emphasis on developing a satisfying approach to learning based on your needs and preferences. Welcome to students of all ages, levels and backgrounds

I've studied guitar, composition and theory with teachers in Perth and Brighton (England), from Sydney university and Conservatorium, and mcGill and Concordia universities in Montreal. I've also played in numerous bands in Perth, Sydney, Montreal and Toronto, composed and recorded with those bands, for television and film (e.g. George Romero's 'Diary of the Dead'), theatre and dance.
I've similarly enjoyed teaching guitar in these cities (to students ranging from 7 to 80 years old), most recently at the West Island Conservatory in Montreal. Based on these skills and experiences I am pleased to offer enjoyable, satisfying guitar lessons with positive results, including other related creative options if desired.
I am also able to give group lessons at negotiable rates, and to travel within 5km of my home address at $50 per 1 hr lesson (or negotiable group rates)
