Depending of the student goals with the lessons, I would have different methodology. If the person just want to learn another language, I think discussion and oral understanding is a good way to get started. For more advanced student, I like to go deeper into grammar (we all know how complicated it can be!) and also learn new expressions and vocabulary. Reading books could also be a really good way to learn.
