I adapt every lesson to the student's needs : the first lesson usually consists in talking about what the student wants to achieve, what his current level in French is and what are the teaching methods they like the most. Then, we do a quick review of the basics, and we can start the "real" lessons, which start with a summary of the last lesson, followed by new things to learn, and a few exercises to practice.
I have experience giving lessons : I have been a tutor for the last 2 years in France, mostly giving math and physics lessons. I have taught 2 students through high school : they both got the french equivalent of their Senior Secondary Certificate of Education, and the GPA of one of them went from 0.8 to 2.3 !
My travel charge depends on the distance : if walking there takes me less than 20 minutes, the cost will only be 2$.
