When teaching ESL or JSL (Japanese as a Second Language) subjects, I find taking an active learning approach is effective. I prefer to find out what my students want to learn and where they are at with their learning and base my teaching catered towards these needs. Wherever possible, I like to teach in a way that is engaging and fun. I am patient, conscientious and creative.
I am a Bachelor of Primary School Education student. I have experience working as a Tutor / Classroom Assistant with the Darwin School of Languages as a Japanese Tutor. I also have worked at Henbury School for students with disabilities. I have experience tutoring Math and English privately. I have completed an iTESOL course in teaching English as Second Language. I have worked with people from a wide range of different backgrounds, with different needs and with ESL students. I have a background in studying Linguistics.
My travel rate differs depending on how much it costs to get to the destination. I do not have a car so will likely need to take a taxi or bus. A taxi is costly and traveling by bus can potentially take a couple of hours in walking, waiting and transferring to another bus at the terminal. I have estimated a travel cost of $20 to cover the cost of a taxi or the time it takes to travel by bus. However, the cost may be cheaper if my student / client lives nearby.
