My teaching method is simple: tailoring each lesson to my student's needs and personality in a fun and approachable manner. I believe that every lesson should be enjoyable and offer a memorable experience, rather than a series of impersonal exercises.
My name is Emilie, I am a 30 year old French native who has been living and working on three continents since 2009 (France, UK, Canada, Australia). Coming from a bilingual family (French mother/British father) and studying foreign languages at university, the teaching and acquisition of languages has always been a large part of my life and a real passion.

Perfect! Emilie is a really knowledgeable, patient and kind tutor. In only two lessons, I already have a much greater understanding of fFrench grammar because of the really helpful activities, explanations and resources she provides during our lessons. I look forward to our next lesson!
Phoebe is a lovely student who takes pride in learning the language and it was a pleasure to teach her. I’m very much looking forward to our next lesson!
Emilie was my teacher in an intermediate French class last year & for a private lesson in the first part of this year.
My conversation & grammar improved over that period & I really enjoyed Emilie’s lessons
She always tries to make the lessons relevant & fun & is keen to ensure that she is teaching things that you want to learn & are interested in.
It helps that Emilie speaks both perfect French & English as her explanations of things are very clear
Emilie is an absolute delight & I would highly recommend her
Émilie is an incredibly gifted teacher who always has the time to answer your questions. She is attentive enough to know when you need more help in certain areas and has the personality to make difficult things enjoyable to learn. 5/5 stars.
Emelie is an excellent teacher - she was my French teacher for three terms at the Alliance Francaise in Melbourne (A2.4-A2.6) - and I write as someone who has spent part of their career mentoring teaching staff at Monash University. She had a tremendous empathy for the quite complex range of linguistic talents and general experience she had to cope with among her students. Every class was very enjoyable, but I was impressed to see how she also managed to get through the curriculum, keeping people focused (well, most of the time) on learning what they were supposed to be learning. I certainly learnt a great deal and gained a lot of confidence in French from her supportive and encouraging approach. She's bi-lingual, so you get jokes in two languages. I am happy to recommend her to the community.
