Trained as a Suzuki instructor at School for Strings in New York City, I feel at home working with students of all ages and levels, including adult beginners.
Lessons are tailored to meet each student's needs. I work with a varied and enriching repertoire ranging from the Suzuki violin method, the Marc O'Connor method, which focuses on American and Irish folk music, as well as improvisation.
Lessons are 30, 45 or 60 minutes in length and take place at your home (Paris and neighboring suburbs). I am fluent in French, English and Spanish, and am comfortable teaching in any of these languages.

Perfect! Thank you so much for meeting with us at short notice, Hudson enjoyed the violin lesson very much! I was meaning to ask, is it possible to meet over Skype once a month come June? Please kindly advise...
Hudson is a very talented, highly intelligent student who can go far with his music! It was a pleasure meeting him and teaching him this lesson.
I have known Nicole for many years, first as my violin teacher and later, after she moved on in her career and left New York City, as her friend. Nicole is that rare teacher who can work with beginners but also with highly gifted musicians and musical professionals. I studied with her as an adult beginner on the violin and found her to be patient, intuitive, never frustrated or impatient, and able to move me on in my training both rapidly and in a way that was very well adapted to my learning style. At the same time she is a virtuoso musician herself, and I am sure that she can offer the most advanced students the technique, passion, insight, wisdom, and breadth of experience to help them to develop in their own way on the instrument. Such flexibility and intuition are rare and valuable, in my experience. As a university professor myself and a psychoanalyst, I believe that the best teachers must be attuned to their students and able to adapt their teaching style to individual needs. Nicole is an example of this kind of Superprof!
Nicole tutored our two children Nicholas and Audrey in violin twice per week for two years while we lived in Paris. Nicole was recommended to us by the music school they attended in New York. Nicole is a highly talented violinist, a super teacher and a truly lovely person. Nicholas and Audrey made great progress during this time and we enjoyed coming to know Nicole as a friend and attending her performances. We recommend Nicole as a violin teacher without hesitation.
I have been teaching for the past 15 years , both privately and in conservatory settings. It is a joy to work with both beginners as well as advanced students planning to pursue a career in music. I learn as much from my students as they learn from me, and this exchange is possibly one of the most rewarding aspects of being a teacher. Music is my passion and I am never happier than when sharing that passion with others.
