I am geared to students who feel that they are being left behind. My approach to teaching is to not just teach a topic but to try and introduce a new way of thinking about a subject so that going forward, there is a broader understanding of subject. Then the students are able to apply this to better absorb new concepts. So there is less spoon feeding and more of an engagement of the mind.
I have studied biomedical science and majored in Anatomy and Human Biology. My PhD has taken me around the world to Nobel prize winning institutions in the US and Canada and then back again. I spent two years tutoring students on the foundations of biology including molecular and cellular. I have tutored students both in laboratory science and marked essays in biology. I have a casual approach which normally involves a simple peer-to-peer approach, and many of my students have done very well.
